Words Remain Unsaid

Some nights I look up

and write poems between stars.

Some nights I release

jars full of fireflies and

try to write haikus before

they burn out or fly

away. Some nights the stars shoot

across the sky but

I wish upon fireflies

that the shooting stars would stay

but the lid was stuck

and the fireflies lay dead

and the clouds have blocked

the stars now, so words remain
