And The Good News…?

In Gaza, the hospitals are running out of fuel

for the generators that power them

and allow doctors to try to heal the sick

the little emergency fuel that remains

is running out

and densely populated civilian areas

are being bombarded

and the hospitals are already filled

with the survivors of other recent bombings

and the survivors of snipers bullets

Gaza is barely hanging on,

it’s on life support

and we’re standing by

as Israel pulls the plug

the good news?

oh, maybe without fuel

the hospitals won’t burn

entirely to the ground

with any luck,

they’ll be able to last

for another round or two

before they drown

in the world’s apathy

and all of these bombs aren’t free

maybe, instead of paying for the bombs

that drop on Gaza

we can buy them solar panels

and medicine

and a voice

we do have a choice, you know…

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
