Spangled

You might think that we’re free, because of pawns sacrificed

but for millions of people, it’s long been darkness, no gleaming

What we see now is par, though an unseemly sight

on the TV’s we watch, and the internet streaming

All our cupboards are bare, and we’ve forgot Voltaire

100 proof is our flag, we’re so drunk we don’t care

We give our money to Uncle Sam, look at how he behaves…

both at home and abroad, putting millions in graves!!!

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
