Flowers need the spring

plants need the spring

trees need the spring

and the farmer needs the spring

after a cold, harsh winter

so the snow can melt

the earth can thaw

and the birds can sing once again.

The spring gives life

to fields still

filled with death

from the fall.

In Persian,

the word for spring

is Bahar

and I am the farmer

and you are the spring

and I will jump

through fire

to get to you,

my beautiful

Persian spring

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
