Starry Night Over Ho’olehua

Just when the world

gets too heavy

pound

after pound

after pound

piling up

until its too much

I step out

into the meadow

and look up

and every star twinkles,

billions

upon billions

upon billions

beyond what we can see.

The Milky Way flows

directly over the farm

and continues

out to sea.

Looking up from the meadow

the scales tip

and the weight of the world

slowly drips away

pound

after pound

after pound.

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel.
