She is hiding

She is hiding in my memories

in my thoughts

in my dreams

wants to whisk me away

take away the pain

she tries to give me courage

to take the final step

she always shows up

when there’s no one else left

to talk to

and when I’m feeling blue,

there she is

peaking through the shades

that have been drawn

for too long

singing me love songs

hoping I’ll sing along

then, with a wink

and a smile

I know she’ll be here awhile

unless I make her go away.

She was hiding

but now she wants to play

and I just don’t know,

I’m still day to day

hoping the grey fades

and I can open the shades

and make Sue go away.

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
