Love Poem #5

April 2013

It’s so hard not being able to hold you,

able to feel your warmth,

feel your hugs and kisses.

I miss you so much

and dream of the day

you wait for me at the airport

you smile as I walk through the gate,

walk over to you,

an ocean of tears

crashing down my face

that you kiss away

and I can taste the Pacific

on your lips

as we kiss

in the middle of Logan

lost amidst a sea of travelers.

These caterpillars in my stomach

will be full grown butterflies by then

but for now,

I lay awake wondering

If your caterpillars keep you up at night

too…

About soitgoes1984

I was born and raised on land stolen from the Pocumtuc. I now live on a small island in the middle of the Pacific ocean, on land that was stolen more recently, from the Hawaiians. I am addict, struggling to kick the habit of fossil fuel.
